SOFIA Offshore Windfarm Converter Substation
Sofia Offshore Wind Farm is a major renewable energy project about 195 kilometers off the northeast coast of England. Developed by RWE, it is set to become one of the world’s largest offshore wind farms with a capacity of 1.4 gigawatts (GW). SR Power Engineering Services provided the Onshore Commissioning Engineering Services for RWE covering works at National Grid Lackenby 400KV Substatioin for a Bay extenstion as well as covering the new Sofia 400KV HVDC Converter Substation.

Neepsend 275KV Substation
The Neepsend 275kV Project was a substation replacement scheme where the existing GIS was replaced on a staged basis. SR Power Engineering Services carried out the Lead TP141 Commissioning Engineer role on behalf of GE.

NnG 400KV Substation
SR Power Engineering Services provided project and commissioning support for GE on the NnG project in order to meet key milestones one of which was the sucessful completion of HV Testing two 400KV GIS substations.
Highlights
- Test 6 Bays 400KV GE T155-3 GIS Switchgear including Circuit Breakers, Disconnectors, Earth Switches, CT’s, VT’s, RCVDs and Local Control Cubicle prior to interface wiring being connected
- Carry out GIS HV testing and assist with rectification works
- Energise Main LVAC Board and carry out LV Safe System of Work to progress
installation including the preperation and issue of LV Safety Documents

400KV SAP
Appointed as Senior Authorised Person under NG Safety Rules to carry out operational and safety switching on the transmission system. Responsible for producing and issuing Safety Documents, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements, and for setting people to work.
NICAP / Protection Replacements
Replacement and commissioning of several manufacturers’ Type Registered feeder protection systems, including Alstom, GE, ABB, and Siemens.
Generator Protection Mainenance
Wylfa Nuclear Power Station Generator Protection Maintenance, Generator Transformers Protection Maintenance, LNER Maintenance, and Station Transformers Protection Maintenance.
Protection Maintenance & Standby Duties
General protection maintenance of a variety of relays, including electromechanical and new numerical protection from various suppliers. Also available for out-of-hours standby duties for fault investigation, problem solving, and repairs of transmission assets.
400KV/132KV SGT
Installation of a new 400KV/132KV ABB Supergrid transformer, including all HV switchgear, ancillary protection and control systems, ATCC, and 132KV cable.
